WHAT IS AN OCULOPLASTIC SURGEON?
Because of the complexity and importance of the eyes, treating the surrounding areas should be reserved for only surgeons with the highest level of expertise. An oculoplastic, or oculofacial plastic surgeon is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has completed additional fellowship training that focuses exclusively on the eyelids, eyebrows, orbits, mid-face and tear ducts.
There are only a few hundred surgeons worldwide who are trained and accredited by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (ASOPRS), the governing body of the field.

WHEN CAN I RETURN TO WORK AFTER SURGERY?
Generally less than 1 week, but this depends on the specific procedure and your type of work. This will be discussed during your consultation, and can be accommodated when scheduling surgery.
HOW MUCH DOES COSMETIC SURGERY COST?
A detailed all-inclusive quote will be provided during consultation. For appropriate cases, we offer office-based surgery to save operating room and anaesthesia fees. We do not charge for a consultation.
AM I SUITABLE FOR SURGERY?
Each patient is unique and this is a collaborative decision between the patient and Dr. Neimkin. This can only be made after in-person consultation and review of medical history. For our out of town guests, we offer virtual consultation but finalization of treatment is made in-person the day of or day before surgery.
CAN I UNDERGO MULTIPLE PROCEDURES AT ONCE?
Yes. Dr. Neimkin believes in combining procedures as appropriate to minimize recovery time, patient costs, and trips to the doctor!
CAN I DRIVE AFTER THE SURGERY?
Not within 24 hours of receiving anaesthesia. Most patients are comfortable driving 2-3 days after surgery. Patients having in-office minor procedures can drive after the appointment. If this is a concern, please ask during consultation.
HOW LONG UNTIL THE BRUISING GOES AWAY?
It depends on genetics, health history, medications, and a little bit of luck but generally 1-2 weeks. We recommend Arnica to aid with recovery.
DOES DR. NEIMKIN PERFORM LOWER FACELIFTS AND NECKLIFTS?
No, he specializes exclusively in the eyelids, eyebrows, forehead, orbits, tear duct and mid face. We routinely work with other plastic and facial plastic surgeons to ensure the best results if a face or necklift is indicated.

WILL MY PICTURE BE POSTED ONLINE?
No. To respect the confidentiality of our patients we do post your photos online. A photo consent form is provided during registration for initial consultation. Patients have the option to decline having photos shown in any capacity, even in office to perspective patients. Before and after pictures of the procedures we perform are available in office during consultation. We understand that many practices do post before and after photos on their website; however, we offer free cosmetic consultations which provides perspective patients an opportunity to see our results.
